LA Pierce College would like to Welcome our new cheerleading coach Brian Moore!
Brian Moore has over twenty-five years of cheerleading experience. A former football and basketball player, Moore made the switch to cheer during his sophomore year at St. Bernard High School in Uncasville, CT and never looked back.
Moore attended Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY where he majored in English with a concentration in writing. As a division 1 cheerleader, he competed at UCA College Nationals his sophomore and senior year and at NCA College Nationals his junior year.
In 2004, Moore became a staff member for the New England Cheerleaders Association, headquartered in Uncasville, CT. During his time with the company, he has helped organize and direct numerous summer camps and cheer competitions. In time, he has been promoted to a Vice President of the company.
Moore would return to his alma mater in 2006 to become the head cheerleading coach of the Red Foxes. During his time as a student and as a coach, he had the privilege of traveling to the NCAA Women's Basketball tournament three times, including the program's first entrance into the tourney (2004) and their Sweet 16 run (2007).
In the spring of 2009, Moore would be hired as the head coach at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT. He would remain there for fifteen years. During his first year at CCSU, he took the cheer team to its first ever appearance at the NCA College Nationals in Daytona. With the exception of 2020 and 2021, the Blue Devils have competed in Daytona ever since. The program claimed two 5th place finishes during his time. Numerous cheer alumni during his time at CCSU have gone on to coaching positions of their own.
In addition to his time as a coach and choreographer, Moore has also been an active cheerleader in the all-star world. He is a two-time U.S. Finals Champion with KC Cats in Rhode Island and is a five-time USASF Worlds competitor with Full House All-Stars in Massachusetts.
Moore produces music mixes for cheerleading routines and acts as an MC at competitions. Other highlights include appearances at the 2001 and 2009 All American Cheer and Dance Half-time Performance at the NFL Pro Bowl as a performer and staff member respectively; traveling to the Yokota Air Base in Tokyo to run summer cheer camps in 2013 and 2015; attending countless weddings of teammates.
