Coach Perez has been a part of Pierce Athletics since 2001. The women's soccer program proves to be of the most successful athletic teams at Pierce College with 11 conference championships and currently with a season record of 6-2-3. PIERCE ATHLETICS UPDATE (April 14, 2021)
Happy spring, Brahmas!
It has been an extremely challenging year, but I'm proud to report that our Brahma student-athletes have been approved to condition on campus. The district announced to the nine colleges that we can resume the spring season for face-to-face conditioning. Pierce Brahmas will be back on campus April 19, 2021 and we look forward to a safe and healthy return - leading the charge to get back on campus along with our nursing, welding, automotive technology, and animal science programs. Thank you to our safety teams and committees, administration, and facilities maintenance and operations department for their continued support for a safe return.
Brahmas are back!

PIERCE ATHLETICS UPDATE (December 9, 2020)
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 health and safety guidance of the Los Angeles County Health Department (LACDPH) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), the presidents of all nine colleges within the LACCD unanimously agreed to opt out of early 2021 spring competitive athletics. For Pierce College, this includes women's water polo, football, women's soccer, women's volleyball, and men's basketball. Pierce College will continue to support our student-athletes in their academic goals and offer remote sports conditioning classes in the spring to ensure adequate preparation for upcoming seasons. A determination has yet to be made regarding the Spring II season that is scheduled for February through June. Spring II sports include men's and women's swim, baseball, softball, and men's volleyball.
While we understand the unique challenges our student-athletes face not being able to compete in their chosen sport, the health and safety of all students is taken into consideration, and we are facing more stringent restrictions that will help us overcome this COVID-19 pandemic.
We want all of our Brahmas to know that the Pierce coaches, staff, and college community are here to work through this time and we will unite as a team to prepare for our best seasons ahead. As Vince Lomardi said, "It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get back up." We will get back up, stand tall, and come back stronger.
Brahmas charge on!
Susan Armenta
Interim Athletic Director
Welcome Brahmas, LA Pierce College community, and fans!
Thank you for visiting our new home of Pierce College athletics. At a time when we should be building on the excitement of planning our fall season, we are charged with taking the necessary action to protect our student-athletes, coaches, and community during this COVID-19 pandemic by continuing our remote learning format and implementing a new contingency plan for the 2020-2021 school year.
The Western State Conference and Southern California Football Association will continue to follow directives from the Los Angeles Community College District and the CCCAA, which are guided by our state and local governance. Most recently, the CCCAA Board of Directors voted to implement a contingency plan that moves all sports to the spring season as headlined here:

Pierce College values the important role that athletics play in contributing to student success in academics. Athletics is a vital part of our mission to maximize the potential of each of our student-athletes, therefore it is crucial that we maintain consistency and continuity for our student-athletes during this time. Behind the scenes, coaches, athletic trainers, athletic counselors, and staff have been working tirelessly to ensure that our student-athletes are supported: our summer session has been underway remotely with coaches continuing to develop their online presence; our academic counselor is meeting with student-athletes remotely to help them understand how our new plan affects their eligibility; and our fitness center staff is working with our student-athletes to ensure that they continue their strength and conditioning plans throughout the summer and fall.
As a former student-athlete, I sympathize with our athletes' sudden loss of opportunity to participate in the sport they love, however, our highest priority will always be their safety and the safety of our coaches and staff. I remain hopeful that our Brahmas will return to action this spring season stronger than ever.
In the meantime, please enjoy our new athletics website where we will keep you informed of new information and updates as it relates to our sports programs. And lastly, let us remember to take care of our mental and physical health and stay safe as we learn to cope in this new, ever-fluid environment.
Go Brahmas!
