Swim Concludes Memorable Season

Despite facing harsh challneges such as not having a home pool. The LA Pierce Men's and Women's Swim Team still had a memorable season. 

Our Conference is one of the most competitive in California and the Santa Barbarba women's team which is in our conference won the State Championships this year this past weekend May 2-4th. They were the best team in California by over 180 points, which is an amazing feat. During our Western State Conference Championships swimmers score points by making the finals (1st-8th) or the consolation finals (9th-16th). They swim the prelims in the morning and finals at night. We had some amazing swims this year and the following swimmers scored points by making the top 16. Swimmers are listed according to the points they scored with high point awards going first.
 
Derick Cano - 100 fly 7th, 200 fly 7th, 200 IM 7th. *High Point
Martin Jimenez - 400 IM 9th, 1650 free 11th. 
Benny Briggs - 400 IM 12th, 200 fly 12th, 1650 free 14th.
Cristian Aleman - 400 IM 11th, 200 back 15th, 100 back 16th.
 
The women's team had an outstanding year with all 9 of our women scoring points.
 
Chloe Hendrix - 200 fly 5th, 100 back 6th, and 200 back 11th. *High Point
Melina Farabolini - 200 back 10th, 400 IM 11th, 200 IM 12th
Victoria Murphy - 200 fly 6th, 100 fly 14th, 400 IM 15th
Elizabeth Perez - 200 fly 7th, 100 fly 15th
Heidi Sheaks - 1650 free 12th, 200 breast 13th, 400 IM 14th
Ina Petrosyan - 200 fly 8th, 100 fly 16th
Hailey Barbera - 1650 free 10th, 100 breast 12th
Jenna Brashear - 100 fly 12th, 400 IM 13th, 200 back 15th
Ally Gonzalez - 100 fly 8th
