It was a rocky start but the LA Pierce College Basbeball team came from behind to begin their 2024 season with a win.
After falling down a 3-0 hole in the first inning, Pierce was able to minimize damage the rest of the game, only allowing one run.
Slowly but surely Pierce chipped away at the deficit scoring once in the third inning, and putting up three runs in fifth and sixth inning.
Dylan Shu would hit a two RBI single to knot the score at 4-4.
JJ Torrente then doubled the go ahead run and Pierce never looked back.
Lucas Escalanate started this game going 4 2/3 innings while striking out six. Jayden Shim recorded the win and Stefano Gonzalez recorded three scoreless innings.
Pierce now hits the road to face Cerritos College at 1 p.m. on Feb 1.
