The LA Pierce Baseball Team is back in the win column after a narrow 5-4 win over Oxnard College on Tuesday afternoon.
Despite falling behind 3-1. and being out hit 13 to 5 the Brahmas were not discouraged. A huge three run inning in the bottom of the fifth inning propelled them to victory. JJ Torrenrt knocked in the game tying RBI double and later scored the go ahead run on a wild pitch. He'd later go on to record the save as well. Pierce added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Adam Yamashita threw eight innings and minimized the damage to three runs. Oxnard left the tying run at third base in the ninth inning, but Pierce was able to get a strike out for the final out.
Pierce now travels away to face Oxnard this Thursday. First pitch is at 2:30 p.m.
