The Los Angeles Pierce College Women's Soccer team ground out a 4-2 victory over Moorpark College on Friday afternoon. It was the second meeting between the two sides, with Moorpark being victorious in the first.
Pierce fell behind early off a header via a corner kick but responded as Brenda Medina scored the equalizer from the penalty spot. Even at the half, a similar script unfolded in the second half with Moorpark going up again. However, Livia Pereira with a sweet finish to tie the score at 2, Pierce then scored another penalty kick to take the lead. Things would get a little sweaty, as Moorpark was awarded a penalty. but goalkeeper Adriana Villacana made a great save to preserve the lead. Pereira scored a header for a hat-trick and secured the victory for the Brahmas.
Pierce now moves to a 6-3 conference record and an 11-4-2 overall record. They now only have one home game left which will be sophomore night on Tuesday, November 12th against Oxnard College. Kick-off is at 6:00 p.m.
